Barry Benson is the College of Engineering's new senior director of development. He joins the College Sept. 7 after a year as director of regional development at the UA Foundation.
The gift will help support operating costs for the institute, which is addressing many important issues including worksite and community safety and increasing renewable energy usage.
Lockheed Martin will provide UA with $96,100 to partially fund the creation of the Lockheed Martin Materials Testing Laboratory in the College of Engineering.
