Engineering earns top marks in latest Best Online Programs ranking from US News & World Report

The College of Engineering’s online master's programs, such as software engineering and computer science and engineering, rank in the top 10 list for best online programs for veterans.

Arizona Online continues to add to its reputation as one of the nation's top online education providers, with several strong rankings in the 2026 Best Online Bachelor's Programs rankings released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.

In its 11th year of operation and 10th year of rankings eligibility, Arizona Online received its sixth consecutive top 15 ranking for Best Online Bachelor's Programs, placing it in the top 5% out of 348 ranked programs. Arizona Online also ranks No. 9 in the publication's Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans.

"Arizona Online's consistent position near the top of these rankings in multiple areas of study reflects the University of Arizona's rigorous academic standards across both main campus and online settings as well as our unwavering dedication to supporting students throughout their academic and professional journeys," said Gary Packard, interim senior vice provost for online initiatives.

Arizona Online's master's in engineering programs in the College of Engineering tied for No. 24 overall and tied for No. 16 for veterans.

Arizona Online's computer information technology graduate programs – which include information systems, computer science, computer engineering and software engineering – ranked tied for No. 6 overall and No. 4 for veterans.

In fall 2025, Arizona Online enrolled more than 10,100 students in undergraduate and graduate programs – an increase of more than 400 students from the previous year. Most Arizona Online students are adults who work full time, including parents who seek the flexibility of online courses and active military personnel who require the ability to study from wherever they are stationed or deployed.
