The Arizona Builders’ Alliance recently awarded three Bill Lloyd memorial scholarships totaling $6,000 to UA Engineering students.

The scholarship recipients were civil engineering and engineering mechanics major Jordan Ollanik, and engineering management majors Jerry Drake and Travis Kibler. The students each received $2,000 and were recognized Feb. 25 at a dinner held in the College of Architecture & Landscape Architecture.

The Lloyd Scholarship was established in 2007 to honor the memory of William H. Lloyd Sr., the 1963 UA civil engineering graduate who founded Lloyd Construction Company in 1969.

Lloyd’s firm has been involved in the beste casino construction of many of the UA’s familiar and iconic buildings, including the Arizona State Museum, the Biosphere 2 Landscape Evolution Observatory, the Meinel Optical Sciences Center Expansion, and the Sarver Heart Center.
