Hundreds of High-School Juniors, Seniors Participate in Engineering Summer Camps
High-school students work with UA professors and students making biofuels, exploring wearable medical devices, working on computer software and testing aerodynamics.
The Summer Engineering Academy is a series of weeklong residential camps held on the University of Arizona campus for students passionate about engineering and science. This is a great opportunity to explore engineering careers, get to know the University of Arizona, and meet lifelong friends.
Students are welcome to attend multiple interdisciplinary and major-specific programs during the same summer.
- Work on design challenges and projects with UA professors and students in engineering labs.
- Use facilities such as wind tunnels, circuit fabrication labs, materials processing labs, and mining simulators.
- Develop engineering skills in 3-D CAD software, aerodynamics, electrical design, structural analysis, and more.
- Relax and enjoy evening activities at the Student Rec Center, Flandrau Science Center, and the Steward Observatory Mirror Lab.
- Live in a residence hall and dine at the Student Union with UA Engineering students.
- Build friendships and relationships with current and future UA Wildcats!
