UA Students to Provide Free Computer Training

Oct. 8, 2010

UA student members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers host an annual event to help adults in the Tucson community embrace technology.

Without basic computer skills, finding or applying for a job may stall at step one: submitting an application online or sending an e-mail of interest.

To help bridge the technological gap, University of Arizona students will offer free computer training classes to the public on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Harvill Building room 105.

The classes will be taught in English and Spanish by members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, a UA student club. The event, sponsored by IBM, has become an annual affair that the 100-plus members of the club organize and manage.
