UA, Raytheon Events Mark National Engineers Week

Feb. 16, 2010
Students use the skills they learn in class in some fun events that raise awareness of engineering and benefit the community.

It's National Engineers Week, and Tucsonans are celebrating with contests at the University of Arizona and kids' activities at Raytheon Missile Systems.

More than 150 students toured Raytheon on Monday and took part in an interactive liquid-nitrogen demonstration.

The University of Arizona's many student engineering clubs have events planned all week, including an industry expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the student union. Other activities are sponsored by Motorola, Lockheed Martin and Texas Instruments.
