As the new Eller and Engineering joint online master's in cybersecurity starts its first semester, the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security have recognized UA's excellence in cyberdefense research.

The National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security have named the University of Arizona a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Research.

As a result of this designation, students attending any of the university’s cybersecurity programs -- including the UA's new Master's in Cybersecurity program -- are eligible to apply for scholarships and grants through the Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Program and the Federal Cyber Service Scholarship for Service Program.

Cyberdefense research, and all things related to cybersecurity, are increasingly important as we move forward into the fourth industrial revolution. Our interconnectedness with each other through internet-capable devices means cybersecurity will be a key to many aspects of our daily lives," says UA President Robert C. Robbins.
