The UA Engineering chapter of Theta Tau, the Chi Chapter, is sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive.

The UA Engineering chapter of the Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity is sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive Oct. 28.

The American Red Cross gets into the Halloween spirit with its blood drive poster.

The American Red Cross "bloodmobile" will be parked outside Old Engineering (across E. University Blvd. from Old Main) and will be open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Donors will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last, and will be eligible to win one of two $25 gift cards. A free barbecue meal will also be available to fortify drained donors.

Drop-ins are welcome, but potential donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment at the Red Cross website, redcrossblood.org, using the sponsor code theta.

The UA Engineering chapter of Theta Tau, the Chi Chapter, was established in 1930 and is active in many campus events, including the homecoming float parade, Engineer's Week, the Rube Goldberg machine contest and Spring Fling. In 2010, the Chi Chapter was voted best chapter in the nation at the fraternity's annual national conference.
