NIOSH Awards UA $1.6M for Mine Safety Center

The center's objectives include development of new methods and materials to make mine safety training more effective. The grant will also be used to enhance the mine rescue and recovery capacity at the San Xavier Mining Laboratory.

MacTech Conference First to Show Mac-Based Planetary Rovers

The MacTech Conference in Los Angeles will have Mac-based planetary exploration rovers and a boat controlled by iPod touches, the first public display of these rovers outside a university or research setting.
